“Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten” Aldo Gucci.
I heard that quote as I watched the film House of Gucci at the weekend. I have to say I agree with Aldo because I have an expensive Paul Smith briefcase which I have owned for several years, and I smile every time I look at it because the price no longer matters.
The Oxford dictionary defines ‘quality’ as the standard of something when it is compared to other things like it…
For me, quality means :
✅ Your client remembers their experience of working with you long after they have paid your fee.
✅ A degree of excellence whenever you deliver your service – attention to detail, professionalism, punctuality, being prepared, excellent response times
✅ Your recruitment and staff training process is to a very high standard to maintain the ethos and culture of your business.
✅ Staff are motivated and empowered, which is demonstrated by their standard of service
✅ Keeping promises
✅ Giving more than expected – I booked 2 hrs with a client as she had to submit a proposal urgently. We worked on it for 4 to make sure it was ready
✅ Going the extra mile and doing things that show clients you are thinking of them, on their side and want them to win – i.e. giving praise or feedback on a new system, book or initiative. Sending an article, you read that could add some valuable insight.
✅ Deliver a little bit more than the client expects
It is not just one thing, but all these elements coming together – and more.
What does quality mean to you?
